Fremantle senior development and assistant coach Simon Lloyd says Haiden Schloithe has become a more coachable player in his second year at AFL level.

Schloithe, who is on Freo’s rookie list, was one of South Fremantle’s best in a close loss to Swan Districts.

“Haiden’s becoming more proactive in working diligently to improve his game,” Lloyd said.

“He is working closely with his development coach Roger Hayden.”

You can see that he’s maturing and demanding greater things of himself, both on and off the field, in regards to his professionalism.

Lloyd said there had been a number of instances where Schloithe had impressed Freo’s coaching team.

“There’ll be times in team meetings where Ross (Lyon) will ask a question of Haiden relating to our game plan and structures, and he will answer accurately," he said.

“He spends a lot of time with coaches to understand what’s expected of him and the different roles he can play in the team.”

Lloyd shared his notes on all Fremantle Dockers who played WAFL last weekend.

Midfielders

Tom Sheridan – (PT) 14 disposals (8 kicks, 6 handballs) 3 inside 50

Compared to previous weeks, Tom was a little quieter this week, where he didn’t have a great deal of influence apart from a couple of good clearances and one inside-50 kick. Tom will look to get back to his workmanlike performances like previous weeks where he’s worked both inside and out to win his own football.

Hayden Crozier – (PT) 18 disposals (11 kicks, 7 handballs) 17 marks, 3 tackles, 1 goal

Played a mixture of wing, forward and midfield. We were pleased with Hayden in regards to his energy and effort over four quarters. A feature of his game was his use and he constantly looked to move the ball on quickly and kick the ball long to one-on-ones. He’s been playing someconsistent footy.

Haiden Schloithe – (SF) 22 disposals (17 kicks, 5 handballs) 6 marks, 2 tackles, 7 inside 50

Haiden started on the wing in a run-with role on ShaunHildebrandt, and did a good job. Looked to attack and get to dangerous space more in the second quarter, giving extra options out of defensive 50. He was moved to an inside-mid role in the second half where he had a big influenceearly in the third quarter around centre square bounces and clearances. Hadseven forward 50 entries. Haiden’s really building his game as the week’s progress and we’re seeing some really strong development in his football.

Lachie Neale – (SD) 27 disposals (9 kicks, 18 handballs) 4 marks, 2 tackles, 1 goal

*WAFL Player of the Round Lachie played as a high forward for most of the game with a few short stints on ball. He worked up and around the stoppages and used his speed to link up through the corridor with good skills and decision-making in congestion. His work rate was high and he kicked a good goal in a forward 50 stoppage in the first quarter, and in the last, he was very clean at ground level in congestion to set up a goal. A solid outing for Lachie.

Viv Michie – (PT reserves) 15 disposals (5 kicks, 10 handballs) 3 marks

Played Peel reserves and approached it in a professional manner where he won the ball and used it well. He won 15 disposals in a half of football, with a lot of them highly contested.
