Matt de Boer
Matt played limited game time as a high forward and demonstrated some hard, intelligent run both defensively and offensively from contest to contest. He had a real impact with his pressure. It was a productive day for Matt.
Clancee Pearce
Clancee played on the wing and flipped to inside midfielder at different times. He worked hard to create space for other midfielders and constantly presented and ran to break. We would have liked him to get more of the football, but he had a good impact with his five tackles around the clearances.
Anthony Morabito
Anthony played on the wing and inside mid for the game. He won plenty of the ball, had seven clearances and was able to break with the ball when he had space. He demonstrated some good bursts with the ball and was clean at ground level.
Sam Menegola
Sam tagged Shane Nelson for three quarters, then played inside mid for the final term. He stuck to his role and showed good work rate around the clearances where he was strong at staying in the contest by pressuring or getting the clearances. He showed some strong defensive run where he at times rolled off to spoil and help as an outlet.
Jacob Ballard
Jacob played inside mid and went for periods of time onto the wing and high forward. He worked hard around the clearances and was strong over the ball having 10 clearances for the game. He showed good pressure around the contest with his second and third efforts.
Michael Apeness
It was a really productive day for Michael where he played forward. He was dominant in marking contests and his attack in the air. He took six contested marks and four uncontested. He had some strong spoils and hit on the opposition. One area of growth for Michael throughout the season was his ability to work hard defensively, we saw this throughout the game.
Kepler Bradley
Kepler played forward where he showed several good leads early where he changed angles and showed some good run as an outlet to win the contest. He kicked a long-range goal in the first quarter. Kepler’s ability to teach younger players on-field and show strong leadership has been a positive for him in the WAFL this season.
Michael Wood
Michael played as a high forward and on the wing. A positive for his game was that he covered a lot of ground and showed some good running patterns, particularly defensively. We are looking at Michael to break harder into space and his focus is still on his physicality, where he laid two strong tackles. Michael also kicked a snap goal in the fourth term.
Jack Hannath
Jack played in the ruck, rotating forward. He showed some good stoppage ruck work where he controlled the space in the contest. Jack also showed an improvement in his marking contests, particularly around his positioning and his contests.
Jon Griffin
Jon played in the ruck and forward. A positive for the day was his marking contest where he took five marks and at one stage showed courage to go back with the flight and compete in the air. He didn’t have a big influence around the ground, which is what he will be focusing on going into this week.
Craig Moller
Craig played in the ruck for the reserves team. It was a real improvement on last week’s game for Craig where he was dominant in the ruck over four quarters. He showed good use of his bodywork and agility in contests, winning 45 hitouts. His ground level follow-up after ruck contests was very positive with six clearances and two tackles. It was a positive game for Craig.
Tom Vandeleur
Tom played in defence opposed to Anthony Tsalikis for the game, holding him goalless. Tom’s focus through the season has been on his physicality and his starting positions. Overall this was good for the day, particularly around his bodywork and ability to reposition the forward.
Alex Pearce
Alex played on Christopher Keunen for the majority of the day. He showed some good run from defence where he attacked at the right time to give some bounce from halfback. He showed some strong run to get back and lay an aggressive tackle in the fourth term. Alex has shown good leadership with a real willingness to organise and direct in defence.
Garrick Ibbotson
Garrick played in defence for the first three quarters then went onto the wing. He looked to run off and create and covered well where he was able to impact the contest. He demonstrated strong leadership and guidance to the Peel defence.
