Four Fremantle players returned to the field for Peel Thunder at Bendigo Bank stadium on Saturday in a narrow loss to West Perth.
Kepler Bradley (hamstring), Garrick Ibbotson (back), Clancee Pearce (hip) and Michael Apeness (concussion) all returned after their respective injuries in the nine-point loss to the Falcons.
Matt de Boer also played for the Thunder after playing for Freo in Geelong last weekend.
After the game, Apeness commended his returning teammates effort on the field.
"They did really well," he said.
"Good to see ‘Kep’ kick a few goals, and you know what Matty gives, it's always a hundred per cent and always gets his head over the ball, and Clancee's the same as well."
Apeness was a strong target up forward, kicking two goals and taking 10 marks.
"I'm just going to keep working," he said.
Despite the loss, Apeness said it was obvious that the team was starting to work together and protect each other more.
"We're starting to get to know each other a lot more," he said.
