Fremantle High Performance Manager Phil Merriman says ruckman Luke Jackson is a chance to return for Friday night’s clash with St Kilda.
Jackson has been out with a hamstring injury since the Club’s Round 4 win over the Bulldogs, but is on track to return at Marvel Stadium.
“All signs are looking good,” Merriman said.
“He’s completed training and we just need to make sure he pulls up well tomorrow — then he’ll be on the plane.”
Will Brodie has spent a week on the sidelines, missing Peel Thunder’s Round 4 win over Swan Districts with a calf injury, but Merriman says the midfielder will be a test to play this weekend.
“Will got through training today, so that is all pointing in the right direction,” Merriman said.
“He should be available for selection.”
In positive news for midfielder Nathan O’Driscoll, he is moving closer to an AFL return after progressing to on-field running.
“Driz (O’Driscoll) is out there running around and hitting some good high-speed efforts now,” Merriman said.
“He’s likely about two weeks away, then we should see him back in action.”
Merriman says forward Sam Sturt is progressing well following knee surgery in Round 5 and could make his return after the Club’s Round 13 bye.
“He’s also running on land, progressing well and building his strength,” Merriman said.
“That’s coming along nicely and we should see him post-bye.”
Midfielder Jaeger O’Meara and forward Michael Walters are yet to have timelines established for their returns, but Merriman says both players have taken positive steps in their recoveries.
“Sonny (Walters) is also running on land now, which is exciting for him,” Merriman said.
“We don’t have a timeframe just yet — it’s day-by-day for Sonny and we’ll know more in a few weeks.
“Jaeger (O’Meara) is coming out of the (moon) boot and hopefully we’ll see him running outside sometime next week.”
