Fresh off Peel Thunder’s second win of the season Michael Apeness said the team is starting to gel.
Apeness was Fremantle’s first selection in the 2013 National Draft with pick 17 and has played nine games for Peel this season.
“It’s really good playing down there, we have had a couple wins now,” he said
“It was a bit hard at the start getting to know everyone but we are all getting to know each other now.
The developing forward had a stand out game last weekend in Peel’s win against Perth kicking three goals and taking nine marks in wet conditions at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
“It was pretty wet and the ground was soaked, in the last quarter they came back but we managed to hold on.”
Peel will take on Subiaco at Medibank Stadium at 2.05pm this Saturday 28 June.
“They are a pretty good team, so hopefully we can continue our good form from last weekend,” Apeness said.
“We just need to play with great effort, if we bring that we are pretty good.”
