Fremantle could welcome Nathan Wilson back this Sunday against Port Adelaide at Metricon Stadium, with the defender facing a fitness test to be available for selection.

Wilson was a late withdrawal against Brisbane on Saturday, leading to the debut of young back Hayden Young.

In the Envision Medical Imaging injury update, high performance manager Jason Weber said Wilson was recovering well from the minor back injury.

“Nathan unfortunately had a little bit of a twinge on the back of the flight over and the transfer,” Weber said.

“He’s progressed really well and we look to have him available for a test this week to get him available for match committee.”

Sean Darcy hurt his knee against the Lions and scans have cleared the ruckman of a serious injury.

“Sean’s doing really well. Obviously, he had a nasty incident at the weekend,” Weber said.

“Scans this morning have cleared him of both ACL and PCL damage.

“He’s got some soft tissue damage to the back of the knee, which is going to take a little bit to evolve, but he’s doing really well and we hope to see him back soon.”

Weber said midfielder Blake Acres would not be available to face the Power.

Acres came off early in last Friday’s training session and did not take part in the match simulation.

“Blake took a cork into that session (on Friday)…a calf cork from a session on the Monday back in Perth,” Weber said.

“That just complicated him a little bit. He’s got a small strain. He’s up and running this morning but he’ll miss this week.

“We look forward to having him available next week.”
