Peel Thunder were defeated by Subiaco in a Grand Final rematch on Saturday at Leederville Oval.
Matt Taberner had a strong game up forward for Peel taking 10 marks, kicking four goals and spending some time in the ruck.
Peel Thunder take on West Perth this Friday (Good Friday), 14 April at 2.15pm, Rushton Park.
Darcy Tucker
It was a strong game from Darcy this week. He had 24 kicks and eight tackles, which was a feature for him. Played the majority of the game on the wing and at half-back, and showed that he was really composed with the ball. In the third quarter he helped set up the majority of Peel’s scoring opportunities with his run off half-back.
Cam Sutcliffe
Played between the half-back flank again and the wing. He was really good with his overlap run and had 10 rebound 50s. Cam was clean with his hands and was strong with four tackles.
Nick Suban
Played on the wing and at half forward as well. He was really good around the contest and ended up with eight clearances on the wing. He was solid with his run and was good inside the clearance as well.
Matt Taberner
Played as a tall forward for the majority of the game. Matt had 10 marks and worked hard up and down the ground, kicking 4.2 with some time in the ruck as well. He was strong with his leading efforts and was able to get back to the forward 50 to kick a few goals.
Jon Griffin
Played the majority of the game in the ruck and had a strong battle with Lachlan Delahunty. Jon gave us some good advantage with his taps around the clearances. His follow work was good and he did lay a couple of good tackles.
Sam Collins
Played the majority of the game on Ben Sokol. It was a good battle and he again featured strongly with his roll off. Sam had five marks and with his spoiling he keeps producing well as a key back.
Zac Dawson
Played as a key back for the majority of the game on Bradley Stevenson or Clancy Wheeler. He was strong and spoiled well and supported the defence in a solid game.
Sean Darcy
Worked between tall forward and ruck, working with Jon Griffin for the majority of the game. Sean had 18 hitouts and three clearances and was solid with his follow up around the ball. It was a good opportunity to work on his leading and forward game, which he hasn’t had much the chance to do that this year, so it was a good experience for him.
Luke Strnadica
Played the majority of the game forward and kicked a really good goal in the third quarter form a lead-up mark. Spent a little bit of the time as a ruck but presented well as a forward with six marks.
