Heavy rain at Fremantle Oval this morning ensured the players trained in wet, wintery conditions.

After missing last Saturday’s game with a fractured cheekbone, Aaron Sandilands joined the main group, as did Hayden Ballantyne.

Nick Suban, who was subbed out after the first quarter in the Port game with hamstring tightness, ran laps with Stephen Hill.

But senior coach Ross Lyon is confident he will be okay for selection in the clash against St Kilda this Saturday.

“He had a scan which came back clear, so that’s fantastic,” Lyon told 6PR on Monday night.

Clancee Pearce, Luke McPharlin, Matthew Pavlich, Cam Sutcliffe and Garrick Ibbotson were notable absentees from the main group session.

The team will fly to Melbourne Thursday afternoon to prepare to take on St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 31 August at 11.45am(WST).
