Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich says his side is heading in the right direction with just four rounds to go until finals.
Sunday’s 37-point win over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium put the club 10 points clear on top of the AFL ladder after 18 rounds.
Freo dominate Saints
Pavlich told Fox Footy the side was making inroads into several areas it had highlighted to improve mid year.
“We really set ourselves over the last few weeks to play our brand of footy, which we haven’t been anywhere near that prior to the last few weeks,” he said.
“It’s been good to build.”
Pavlich said Fremantle had executed its plans to make St Kilda turn the ball over at Etihad Stadium but it’s final quarter lacked polish, when St Kilda kicked five goals to Freo’s single major.
“We got the ball back off them, we were really good at skills, but that’s something we need to keep working on because we didn’t execute that in the last half,” he said.
“We keep building our footy and to be in the position we are is really impressive.
“It gives us a really good opportunity to drive towards the finals.”
