Fremantle have named two potential inclusions for Sunday’s clash against St Kilda at RSEA Park.
Mia-Rae Clifford and potential debutant Emma O’Driscoll have come into the extended squad of 23, with a final 21 to be named on Friday.
Both Clifford and O’Driscoll were emergencies for Fremantle’s past two games against Collingwood and West Coast, and Freo are set up to potentially go unchanged for a second consecutive week.
St Kilda pose a tricky assignment for the 3-0 Freo Dockers, with the Saints knocking off flag favourites Melbourne to record their first AFLW win in round three after pushing the reigning premiers Adelaide in round two.
The clash will be Fremantle’s first interstate trip for the season and senior coach Trent Cooper said the team was expecting a big challenge.
“We’re travelling for the first time and St Kilda’s form is very good,” Cooper said.
“They play a really structured brand of football to make themselves really hard to score against. We know we’ll be in for a battle this week.
“They beat Melbourne, who were undefeated at the time, and had Adelaide beaten but that game slipped in the last five minutes.”
The clash will be the first time a Fremantle team, AFL or AFLW, has played at Moorabbin, a ground that hosted 15 different V/AFL clubs through 254 games between 1965 and 1992.
Bounce down for the clash is at 3.10pm (12.10pm WST) and it will be broadcast live into WA from 12pm on Foxtel, Channel 7 and the AFL Women’s app.
