Fremantle midfielder Ed Langdon was pleased to welcome Fremantle’s newest recruit Harley Balic after playing alongside the 2015 draftee for the Sandringham Dragons in 2014.

“It’s good to get another Sandy Dragon over here,” he said.

“I played with Harley down at the Dragons and got to know him pretty well so it’s good to have him over here.

“[He’s] fitting in quite well at the moment, he’s getting around all the boys, which is good to see for a young guy.”

Langdon said he was glad to be back training with Fremantle as he continues to learn from the club’s senior players.

“It’s been pretty hot here recently so it’s been quite a shock to the system, but it’s good to get back into it,” he said.

Decision pays dividend for draftee

“Much like last year I’m just out here trying to learn as much as I can off the senior players and improve as much as I can.

“We’ve got great players at this club who I can look up to and learn off.”

The re-signing of Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich was a big moment for Langdon during the off-season as he continues to absorb knowledge from the 335-game veteran.

“I’ve only been at the club for a year now, but in that year Pav’s been terrific,” he said.

“He’s such a great leader and he’s got a great knowledge of the game.

“I think having him around again is definitely great for the club.”

Langdon was able to achieve senior selection twice in 2015, in round 22 against Melbourne and round 23 against Port Adelaide.
