Fremantle ruckman Jack Hannath is looking to improve his match fitness through a new training program alongside forward Matthew Taberner.
“As part of our conditioning and running component, we’ve been doing a bit more game simulation,” he said.
“A bit of running mixed in with wrestling and some burpees and a few other fun things like that.
“We’re back and right into footy and everything at the moment.”
The 24-year-old has looked to improve his endurance after playing three senior games in the 2015 season, following solid performances for Peel Thunder.
“I’ve been doing a lot of work so far in the pre-season in the forward and the midfield and the ruck rotation as well,” he said.
“[I’m] trying to develop my game and make myself a more rounded player.”
Much to the delight of Hannath, Fremantle’s ruck department received a significant boost during the off-season with the addition of former Hawthorn premiership player David Hale to the coaching team.
“I’ve spent a bit of time with him,” he said.

“He’s come from a successful team at Hawthorn, a triple premiership player, so he’s been a wealth of knowledge and experience.
“It’s been good to get a lot out of him, he’s really helping me develop so far in the pre-season.”
Hannath said he’s happy to be back after a relaxing return home to Adelaide.
“I had a really good off season and went back home to Adelaide."
