Fremantle may swing star midfielder Nat Fyfe forward as part of its plans to cover injured forward Matthew Pavlich.
Pavlich is the club’s equal leading goal kicker alongside Michael Walters, with 36 goals this year, but was ruled out of Sunday’s game against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium due to Achilles soreness on Thursday.
Talking Points ahead of North Melbourne
Lyon said on Friday that Fyfe was a potential candidate to play as a marking target inside-50, away from his usual home in the middle.
“To get something, you have to give up something,” he said.
“That’s what great players do, they move around, they contribute to their team and go where their team needs them.
“We have the option of Nat Fyfe, Chris Mayne and those sort of guys.”
Lyon said the club was working on regaining its offensive potency from the first nine rounds.
Fremantle averaged 94 points per game up to round nine but 69 points in the following 11 rounds.
“(The) first nine weeks was pretty solid, the last eight or 10 haven’t been great,” he said.
“We are looking to find some solutions.”
