Veteran Fremantle midfielder David Mundy says despite the club securing its first minor premiership in 2015, missing the Grand Final means the season is a loss.

Fremantle’s season ended with a Preliminary Final loss to Hawthorn at Domain Stadium.

Mundy was among Fremantle’s best on the night and his stunning season was rewarded with his first call-up to the All Australian team.

He said the loss was hard to deal with and was a sour note to end the year on.

“Regardless of how you go out, if you’re not winning the Grand Final you are always finishing on a loss really,” Mundy said.

“It’s painful and hard to overcome.

“The guys will stick together, enjoy each other’s company and reflect on what was a pretty good year, bar the last hurdle.”

Mundy said he was amazed with the crowds’ support at the Preliminary Final, despite losing to the Hawks by 27 points.
