Member election nominations open
Nominations for candidates to serve a two-year term as a member-elected director of the board open on Tuesday 2 October.
If there is more than one approved nominee an online voting process will commence at 9.00am on Monday 29 October and close at 5.00pm on Monday 26 November, 2012.
The result will be announced at the club’s Annual Members’ Meeting on Tuesday 27 November, 2012, with the successful candidate starting their two-year term on 1 December, 2012. Nominees must have been listed on the club’s register of Voting Club Members as at 30 September, 2012.
Nominations must include a two-page summary of the nominee’s background and reasons why the nominee can make a valuable contribution to the club plus a 150 word statement about the nominee for distribution to Voting Club Members.
Nomination forms will be available in the first instance on application from company secretary Graeme Parker from Tuesday 2 October.
The club is extremely proud of the fact that two members of the Board of Directors are elected by the club’s membership for two-year terms. Current member-elected representative Kate Grieve’s two-year term expires on 30 November, 2012. She has indicated her intention to seek a further term as a member-elected representative.
Ben Allan is the second of the two member-elected representatives. His term expires on 30 November, 2013.
The ballot will be overseen by Computershare, which has conducted the club’s annual poll for a member-elected director since 2007. Voting club members will receive all information on the election directly from the Fremantle Football Club after it is posted on or about Friday 26 October, 2012.
Voting will be done on-line, with a provision for those voting club members without internet access to call a phone number and have the ballot papers posted to them. Full details of the election procedures and important dates will be posted on fremantlefc.com.au as details come to hand.
