Brisbane Lions vice-Captain Pearce Hanley is upbeat about his chances of playing his 100th game on Sunday against Fremantle despite picking up some hamstring tightness in the tight loss to Adelaide.
Hanley had 13 touches and kicked a trademark fleet-footed goal that set the crowd alight against the Crows in his first game at the Gabba this season after hip surgery.
He was subbed off in the third quarter after feeling warning signs in his hamstring but told The Courier-Mail he was hopeful of making the trip to Perth for this Sunday’s clash with ladder leaders Fremantle.
“I should be good to go – we have an eight-day break between games so I have an extra day to recover, which should be really helpful,” Hanley told The Courier-Mail.
Lyon still searching for ideal attack
“I won’t push it just because it’s my 100th game coming up. If I need a week off, I’ll take a week off but I should be right I reckon.
“I felt it getting tighter and tighter so I came off as a precaution. The last thing I wanted to do was tear it.”
Fremantle play Brisbane at Domain Stadium on Sunday 5 July. Bounce down is at 2.40pm.
