He’s been a regular of the playing group since 2013 and Cam Sutcliffe is now in line to play his 50th match for Fremantle in Sunday’s Carlton Draught Derby against West Coast.
The 22-year-old was solid in defence last season and was named Freo’s player of the finals alongside Zac Dawson.
Sutcliffe said he was really proud to be a part of the club.
“It’s snuck up on me pretty quickly, but it’s pretty exciting to be a part of this group at the moment,” he said.
“Hopefully I can play a few more games in the future.”
The young defender was drafted in 2011 with fellow South Australian Lachie Neale, who is due to play his 50th game in round 4 against Sydney.
“It’s been pretty cool,” Sutcliffe said.
“Lach’s spoken to me about that how I’ve been one game ahead of him.
“He’s been telling me to sit a week out so we can play it together, but I don’t think that will be the case.”
Freo will be looking to continue its undefeated start to the season, but Sutcliffe knows how tough it is to edge out the Eagles in a Carlton Draught Derby.
“They have a pretty big forward in Josh Kennedy, so hopefully we can shut him down,” he said.

“They’ve got a pretty good midfield brigade as well, so hopefully our midfielders get to work again and we can come away with the win.
“Obviously it’s vital to get off to a good start and get some momentum into the year and hopefully that form that we have at the moment can continue.”
Freo takes on West Coast in the Carlton Draught Derby on Sunday 19 April.
