Kicks for Chicks
Narelle Spangher is a keen photographer and has entered a photo in the AFL ‘Kicks for Chicks’ photo competition
Now in her fourth year playing for the Balmain Dockers, Narelle is hoping for a successful year.
“I thought playing a team sport would be a good way to meet people and make friends, so I started when I moved to Sydney” Narelle said.
“It is a great way to keep fit and have fun.
“We are currently sitting on top of the division one ladder and we have won the last two premierships, so we are hoping to make it a third this year.”
As well as playing football, Narelle is a keen photographer and has entered a photo in the AFL ‘Kicks for Chicks’ photo competition.
She has entered the above photo of her Balmain Dockers teammates having a laugh after a game.
Freo star Nat Fyfe, who is on a panel of judges, shortlisted Narelle’s photo in his favourite five photos for the competition.
The photographer whose photo gets the most ‘likes’ on the Kicks for Chicks Facebook page will get the opportunity to travel to New Zealand and photograph the AFL Women’s International Series.
Narelle said being given the chance to head to New Zealand would be amazing.
“I would love to go to New Zealand,” she said.
“It would be a great opportunity to shoot girls playing AFL at a top level.
“I love the game and am very passionate about seeing the women's game develop.”
