Lachie Neale continues to receive plaudits for his start to the 2015 season after he was named Fremantle’s most-improved player by afl.com.au.
Neale has had a remarkable start to the year, averaging 27.1 disposals per game and winning his second Ross Glendinning Medal, after a game-high 42 touches against West Coast in Round 3.
Neale stands-up in Freo's midfield
The AFL website compiled a list of each club’s most-improved player with Neale the pick for Fremantle.
“There is a case to be made for Neale to have been the most improved Freo last season, but he has taken another step forward in 2015,” it said.
“He has become a top-line AFL midfielder.
I'm in awe of my teammates: Neale
“He is among the top 20 clearance players in the competition, averaging six per game.
“His consistency has been the greatest source of improvement, in nine out of the 10 games this year Neale has collected 22 touches or more.”
It comes after Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton labelled Neale the AFL’s most underestimated player in April and he was listed as in the mix for All Australian selection by the Herald Sun.
Nick Suban and Clancee Pearce were also listed as players who have stepped up.
