Fremantle captain David Mundy will undergo testing for a concussion suffered against the Demons last Saturday.
Mundy copped a knock to his head late in the second quarter and did not return to the field, but high performance manager Jason Weber said the club was optimistic the 30-year-old would be available for selection against the Cats.
“He’s pulled up really well at this point – he’s symptom free – so we’re looking to test him tomorrow ahead of training and hopefully get him available for Ross’ match committee,” he said.
Midfielder Michael Barlow has been mooted for a possible return after a speedy recovery from finger surgery, but Weber said the club would err on the side of caution, despite the midfielder’s willingness to play.

“Michael obviously would’ve played directly after his finger surgery but at this stage, the doctors are going to have a look at him in the course of the next 48 hours and we’ll get him into training,” he said.
“He’s a test, and hopefully we can get him up for selection.”
Weber was also upbeat about key defender Alex Silvagni, who hasn’t played since injuring his calf in late April.
“Alex has had a really good period of training. We’re really happy with how he’s progressed so he’ll be into training tomorrow and we’ll get him available for selection.”
Matt de Boer, Ethan Hughes and Anthony Morabito all pulled up well after returning for Peel in tough conditions.
