Fremantle's mature-age draftee Shane Yarran is set to play his first game of the season in the WAFL on Saturday after overcoming a knee injury.
Yarran was the Freo Dockers' fourth pick in the 2015 NAB AFL draft after two dominant seasons for Subiaco in the WAFL. He kicked 93 goals in 39 games for the Lions over two seasons.
The 26-year-old won the Bernie Naylor medal as the leading goalkicker in the WAFL last season with 54 goals, including five in the Grand Final when the Lions won the flag.
Yarran injured his knee in that game and the Fremantle Dockers have been patient with his rehab over the summer and the early part of the season in order to give him the best chance of getting through the season.

Ross Lyon said it was a positive that the "electric" Yarran was playing for Peel Thunder against Perth this week, given all the injuries that have occurred at Freo.
Yarran is the cousin of former Carlton and current Richmond player Chris Yarran, and he grew up in the same street as Michael Walters and Nic Naitanui in Midvale in Perth's eastern suburbs.
Anthony Morabito will play his third match of the season for Peel after overcoming the knee and hamstring troubles that have plagued him since being drafted.
Veteran Docker Garrick Ibbotson will also play for Peel on Saturday. Ibbotson was named in the All Australian 40-man squad last season but was dropped from the Freo team on form ahead of the Carlton game last week.
