Champion data has released the AFL’s average age data for round three, with Fremantle dropping significantly down the list of the league’s oldest teams.
Fremantle fielded the AFL’s third oldest starting 22 in both round one and two, with an average age of 26.5 – behind only Hawthorn and West Coast.
After making six changes ahead of round three’s win over the Western Bulldogs, the average age of Fremantle’s starting 22 dropped to 24.9 – the 12th youngest team selected last week.
All of Fremantle’s inclusions were aged 23 or younger, headed by debutants Griffin Logue (18) and Harley Balic (20) alongside Brady Grey (21), Ethan Hughes (22), Tommy Sheridan (23) and Hayden Crozier (23).
Hawthorn fielded the oldest side in round three with an average age of 27.1, while Brisbane was the youngest at 23.7.
