Peel defeated East Perth by 77 points at Leederville Oval on Saturday.
Senior development coach Marc Webb runs through how the 14 Fremantle-listed players fared.
Connor Blakely
Played on ball for three quarters and then went to half back for the final term. Connor built his game again this week with his contested ball. He had eight hard ball gets, nine clearances and kicked a goal. He was clean with his hands and solid with his ball use and he continues to build on his form as he returns from injury.
Mitch Crowden
Played on ball for the majority of the game and spent time forward. He was clean around the clearance and his pressure, chase and tackle continues to build. He had 12 tackles, 27 possessions and seven clearances.
Tom North
Played on ball for the game. He was clean around the contest, really strong with his bodywork to help set up Peel’s forward attacks from the stoppages. He had six clearances and 22 possessions.
Brett Bewley
Played on the wing for the game. Once again, the feature of his game was his hard running up and down the wing. He was able to press on offence, help lock the ball into Peel’s forward line and get back and support defence. He finished with 22 possessions and seven inside 50s.
Bailey Banfield
Played as a pressure forward and had some time on ball. His pressure was to a high standard and he released well after the contest where he kicked a goal. He went on the ball in the final quarter where he had a positive impact with three clearances.
Stefan Giro
Played on the wing for the game. He had an impact with three clearances and was also able to tackle and stop East Perth’s forward momentum. Once again, he showed that his run and work-rate is a strong part of his game.
Tobe Watson
Played back for the day. He was able to roll off and impact effectively, finishing with 13 kicks from his 18 possessions as well as four rebound 50s in a good defensive display.
Lachie Schultz
Played forward where he kicked three goals and had 16 possessions. His pressure continues to be strong. He showed some good signs defensively, showing his ability to intercept mark, spoil and help set up a few of Peel’s goals with his work rate.
Jason Carter
Played half back for the game. He finished with 15 possessions and he pushed forward in the last quarter to kick a goal. He’s really growing with his work rate and his hardness at the contest.
Griffin Logue
Played his first game back from injury where he played deep in defence. He defended well, spoiled and showed his speed. He played on East Perth’s Sharrod Wellingham and helped stop his influence.
Hugh Dixon
Played forward for the game. Hugh has increased his work rate in the contest, he was able to take three contested marks and kick a goal. He was also selfless in giving away a couple goals to his teammates in a better position in an improved performance.
Brennan Cox
Played back for the game. He finished with 12 kicks and was able to defend well and spoil. He was aggressive with his bodywork and composed with ball in hand to help set up attacks from Peel’s defence.
Sean Darcy
Rucked for the game. He finished with 42 hitouts and pushed forward to kick a good goal. His tap work was strong as was his follow up as he continues to build his work rate outside the stoppage.
Scott Jones
Played forward and pitched in as Peel’s second ruckman. Scott had 15 hitouts, he created a really good contest forward and his follow up was good. He was also able to hit the scoreboard - he had three opportunities from his 1.2 and there was another chance where he selflessly gave off a goal.
Lloyd Meek
Played in the reserves with a full game in the ruck. He performed well with 37 hitouts, 18 possessions, one goal and he took some strong marks in the final quarter to give Peel an opportunity to win the game. Lloyd is showing some good signs in the reserves, where he gets a great opportunity to build his ruck experience.
