Fremantle leader Reece Conca said the Fremantle playing group are feeling the disappointment from a four-point loss to Carlton at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Fremantle lead by five goals at quarter time and Carlton equalled Freo’s dominance in the second to get back into the contest and eventually win the game.
Conca said that Fremantle went away from the style of play that had seen them perform well in the first half of the season.
“Obviously the result is really disappointing but Carlton are a young talented side and they came over here to prove a point. They played incredibly well,” Conca said.
“I think our second quarter, it was pretty disappointing.
“We went away from our process and we let ourselves down.
“When we stick to that, what we’ve trained to all year, the more we’ve played in the first half this season, the results stack up. We just have to be consistent over the four quarters.
“We still had some great effort and we competed right to the end. That’s encouraging.”
