Fremantle defender Brandon Walker is yet to have a timeline set for his return to football after dislocating his shoulder in the second quarter of the Club’s Round 2 loss to Sydney.
Fremantle High Performance Manager Phil Merriman confirmed that the Club is now consulting with specialists.
“It’s really unfortunate for Walker - he’s obviously had a dislocation of that shoulder,” Merriman said.
“We’re just going through the process of seeing specialists and reviewing the scans.
“We’ll have more information shortly for the Freo fans.”
Ruckman Sean Darcy will join the team’s main training session on Thursday after undergoing ankle surgery last month.
“He’s (Darcy) pretty excited,” Merriman said.
“He will be out on Thursday for full training, with the plan to be playing footy next week.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Hayden Young is another week closer to a football comeback.
“It’s (Young’s hamstring) going really well,” Merriman said.
“Again, he will be available to play footy next week.
“He will just be re-loading and it will be a full footy week next week.”
Merriman was able to confirm a timeline for Charlie Nicholls, who has been nursing a back injury.
“Excitingly, we’ve had some good scan results,” Merriman said.
“You will see him out on the training track and we will graduate his football loads up over the next month.”
Forwards Sam Switkowski (groin) and Michael Walters (knee) continue their recovery from injury.
“It’s going to plan (for Switkowski), and again, he will be available the following round.”
“He (Walters) is still in a period of de-loading and the plan is to start reloading him next week.
“It will be roughly a two to three-week build in the football program (for Walters).”
