Fremantle face GWS on Saturday at UNSW Canberra Oval.

With defender Joel Hamling in doubt due to concussion, Fremantle may need to make at least one change for the clash.

Here’s who is in the mix to come in to the team.

Nat Fyfe
The Fremantle captain is symptom-free and passed his cog-state test after missing round four due to concussion. Fyfe only needs to get through training on Thursday to be declared fit to return to the Fremantle line-up.

Sean Darcy
Darcy was managed in round three and returned to football via Peel where he racked up 44 hitouts against West Coast’s WAFL team. He is likely to come back into the line-up should Fremantle opt to go with two rucks against the Giants.

Brennan Cox
The versatile key position player played 16 games for Fremantle in 2018 but is yet to make an AFL appearance in 2019 due to a hamstring injury. Cox made his return via the WAFL last weekend playing down back. In his weekly media conference, senior coach Ross Lyon highlighted Cox and fellow defender Ryan Nyhuis as potential replacements if Hamling doesn’t play.

Ryan Nyhuis
Nyhuis was held over as an AFL emergency last weekend and didn’t play for Peel. The defender played eight games for Fremantle in 2018, averaging 12 disposals and four marks per game.

Hayden Ballantyne
Listed as a test, Hayden Ballantyne will need to get through Thursday’s training session to be available for selection. The small forward last played in round one, where he kicked a goal before coming off with a hamstring injury.

Bailey Banfield
Banfield was omitted for round four, instead playing for Peel where he played a mixture of forward and midfield with 18 disposals and three inside 50s.

Mitch Crowden
The midfielder won plenty of the footy for Peel against West Coast’s WAFL team, racking up 26 disposals and laying eight tackles.

Tom North
Another midfielder who continues to build for Peel. Against West Coast’s WAFL team, North had 28 disposals and seven tackles as he pushes his case for an AFL debut.

Brett Bewley
The mature aged recruit had 18 possessions in his return from injury. The 24-year-old was touted as a potential early debutant in 2019, however the good form of Fremantle’s running midfielders will make it difficult for the winger to break into the team this week.
