Eleven Fremantle-listed players were in action for Peel Thunder as they played out a thrilling draw with Claremont.
Hayden Young was a standout for the Thunder, gathering 19 disposals and kicking an equal game-high three goals, all of which came in the first half before the midfielder was moved to the bench for managed minutes as he returns from a hamstring injury.
His 110-game Fremantle counterpart, Sean Darcy, also featured in limited minutes but recorded 19 hitouts and 12 disposals. This was Darcy’s first match since injuring his knee in Round 22 of 2024.
Cooper Simpson continued his strong pre-season form with his move to half-back, finishing as the third-highest disposal getter on the ground with 30 touches. He showcased his classy left boot, with 23 of his disposals being kicks.
Quinton Narkle was instrumental in supplying the forwards, registering 22 disposals and a Peel Thunder-high six inside 50s.
Will Brodie picked up where he left off in 2024, gathering a game-high 33 disposals to accompany his four tackles.
Young key defender Hugh Davies was strong for Peel in the backline, collecting 16 disposals and a game-high eight marks.
James Aish made a solid return after featuring as the substitute for Fremantle in the RAC Derby. The veteran defender had 23 disposals and six marks.
Liam Reidy paired well with Darcy in the ruck, collecting 10 disposals and 17 hitouts.
Key defender Oscar McDonald was solid down back with eight touches.
Meanwhile, Fremantle's freshest faces, Jaren Carr and Aiden Riddle got their first WAFL minutes for Peel alongside their new teammates.
Riddle played as a forward for most of the game as he works on his craft, finishing with five disposals and a goal, while also applying good forward-half pressure for a big man with four tackles.
Carr gathered 10 disposals, three marks, and one tackle.
