Nat Fyfe, Joel Hamling and Hayden Ballantyne all face fitness tests ahead of Fremantle’s clash with GWS at UNSW Canberra Oval on Saturday.
Fyfe returned to training on Tuesday but he and Hamling will need to undergo further testing to be cleared from their concussions.
The Fremantle captain came off in Fremantle’s round three clash with St Kilda while Hamling was concussed in Saturday’s RAC Derby.
“Nat trained really strongly today and he had a good weekend on the training front,” Weber said.
“He’s progressed through some of his clinical markers. The last test will be Thursday but he’s doing very well.
“Joel trained lightly today. We didn’t push him too hard as obviously, he’s still recovering. Like Nat, he’ll undergo the final clinical test on Thursday.”
Weber said Ballantyne is on track to return to football after injuring his hamstring in round one.
“Hayden is scheduled to be available for match committee,” Weber said.
“He was really strong in training today, we had to hold him back to be quite honest but he did a really good job and we’re looking forward to having him back in.”
Fremantle could have two players returning to their line-up in round six with Connor Blakely and Griffin Logue listed as one week away due to hamstring injuries.
“Connor is well and truly along the return to play path,” Weber said.
“We’ll get a good match sim into him this week with some full football training with the aim of him being available for next week.
“It’s very similar with Griffin, he’s training strongly.
“He was very positive coming out of today’s session so we look forward to having him available next week with all things going to plan.”
Weber said that Harley Bennell (calf) had a scan on Tuesday afternoon.
“Harley trained with the group today. He came out of training late with some awareness low down in his calf,” Weber said.
“He’s had an ultrasound this afternoon and that showed no abnormalities. He will have an MRI tomorrow morning.
“As we saw a few weeks ago, we had a similar circumstance and had no issue so we’re hopeful to move on from this position.”
Stefan Giro and forward Hugh Dixon also face fitness tests to return to football this weekend.
Weber said it was a close call to leave Giro out of the Peel team that faced West Coast’s WAFL team on Saturday.
“Stefan was just a very conservative call last week,” Weber said.
“He had a little bit of tightness through his hamstring but he’s recovered really well. He trained fully today and we have full expectations that he’ll be available.
“Hugh trained strongly today. He had an unfortunate incident with one of the small tendons in his calf but he’s available this week and we look forward to seeing him play.”
