The Fremantle Football Club is set to host an exciting and informative Teacher Professional Development Day on Monday 2 December, from 9.30am to 2.30pm. This event aims to equip educators with valuable insights into the Club's school program offerings and provide practical strategies for implementation both on the field and in the classroom.
Event Details
The professional development day is designed for a wide range of educators, including classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators from both primary and secondary schools. Regional schools are also encouraged to attend, making this an inclusive opportunity for educators across Western Australia.
Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Fremantle Dockers' school program offerings, including an overview of the Digital Schools Hub. This knowledge will enable teachers to effectively integrate these resources into their curriculum.
Keynote and Guest Speakers
The event will feature an impressive line-up of speakers, including:
Executive General Manager of Football, Joe Brierty, as the keynote speaker, accompanied by AFLW Head Coach Lisa Webb, former captain and current backline coach of the AFLW team, Kara Antonio, and past AFL men’s players, Josh Corbett and Roger Hayden, as guest speakers.
These speakers will share their expertise and experiences, providing valuable insights into leadership, teamwork, and personal development in the context of professional sports.
Practical Sessions
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities during practical sessions held on Victor George Kailis Oval at Fremantle’s Cockburn Arc facilities. These sessions will demonstrate how to implement various AFL-related activities in physical education classes and other learning environments.
Networking Opportunities
The event will provide ample time for educators to connect with colleagues, share experiences, and exchange ideas on creating dynamic learning environments for students. This networking aspect is crucial for fostering collaboration and innovation in education.
Facility Tour
Attendees will also be treated to a tour of the Fremantle Football Club’s facilities, offering a behind-the-scenes look at one of Western Australia's premier sporting organisations.
By attending, educators will be well-equipped to inspire and motivate their students using the power of sport and the prestige of the Fremantle Football Club.
