Fremantle has made one change ahead of their must-win clash with Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Michael Walters has been added to Fremantle’s playing 23 after last featuring for the team in the Club’s Round 19 win over Melbourne.

Bailey Banfield is the only out for Sunday, being omitted for the clash.

Walters battled a hamstring injury following the win over the Demons, in which the veteran forward kicked four goals.

The 33-year-old made his return to football via the WAFL for Peel Thunder last week, marking the first time Walters has made a league appearance in the WAFL since Round 20 of 2014.

Nat Fyfe, Nathan O'Driscoll, Jeremy Sharp, Corey Wagner and Walters have been named on the five-man bench, which includes the substitute, who will be named one hour before the bounce on Sunday.

The Club’s last three meetings with Port Adelaide have been decided by an average margin of nine points.

If Caleb Serong has 19 or more disposals on Sunday, he will break his previous individual record for most disposals in a season (675), which he set in 2023.

If he breaks that record, Serong will then have two of the top four disposal totals in a single season in the Club’s history.

The star midfielder also needs just four more clearances to break the Club’s all-time record for clearances in a season (173), which was previously set by Nat Fyfe in 2015.

Hayden Young could also break the Club’s goal assist record if he gets two more in our final home-and-away game. Matthew Pavlich currently holds the goal assist record with 25, set back in 2007.

Andrew Brayshaw will captain the side in the absence of injured captain Alex Pearce.

James Aish, Banfield and Neil Erasmus have been named as the emergencies for the clash.

The match will also be the club’s Member Thank You round, where appreciation will be shown to the record number of devoted members who have supported the Club throughout 2024.

Bouncedown for the clash is at 4:10 pm WST and will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy, and streamed live on Kayo.
