The Fremantle Dockers would like to extend our appreciation to the Hon. Wayne Martin AC KC for his outstanding service as Chair of the Western Australian Football Commission (WAFC) since 2020, and for his dedicated involvement on the board since 2019.

Fremantle Dockers President Chris Sutherland commended Martin for his leadership during extraordinary challenges, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Martin's tenure has been marked by a strong focus on future-proofing the sport and improving finances, and significant strides have been made in improving access for all participants, particularly in the realm of women's football.

"On behalf of the Fremantle Dockers and the entire Freo Family, I want to express our gratitude to Wayne for his immense contributions to the football community in WA," Sutherland said.

"His role has been demanding, requiring vast amounts of time and effort, and we are thankful for his dedication and the positive changes he has driven.

"His strategic approach has left a lasting impact on the sport at all levels."

As Martin prepares to conclude his term at the end of this year, the Fremantle Dockers wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
