Twenty-two-year-old Sharp has returned home to Perth to add depth to Fremantle’s midfield after four seasons with the Gold Coast Suns.

Fremantle Head of Player Personnel David Walls says the Club has had a long interest in the East Fremantle product.

“We liked him in his draft year (2019). He was a two-time All Australian in the U18s which doesn’t happen very often,” said Walls.

“We tracked him pretty closely and he’s now spent four years in the system.”

Walls says Sharp is an elite runner who can play a variety of positions.

“He has a combination of speed and endurance with good acceleration,” said Walls.

“His height (187cm) allows him to fold back into defence where he likes to help out and he’s good overhead.”

Sharp joined Gold Coast with pick 27 in the 2019 AFL National Draft and played 23 games in four seasons. He was a member of Gold Coast’s 2023 VFL premiership team.
