Josh Corbett has been ruled out for the 2024 season with a hip injury, which will see the key forward placed on the Club’s long-term injury list.

The 27-year-old will undergo hip surgery in late November, with an expected rehabilitation period of up to 12 months.

The key position player was secured in a trade with Gold Coast last off-season, with Fremantle sending a future fourth round pick (tied to Fremantle) to the Suns.

Corbett played five AFL games in 2023, which included a two-goal performance in Fremantle’s round 20 win over Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.

The surgery provides Corbett with the best opportunity to get back to playing football and avoid any long-term complications with his hip down the track.

Corbett’s placement on the long-term injury list will open up a list spot with an opportunity for the Club to make an extra selection in the pre-season supplemental selection period.
