The partnership between the Fremantle Dockers and Woodside will enter its 15th year, with the proud WA organisations agreeing to extend sponsorship arrangements for a further two seasons.
Woodside has been a major partner of Fremantle since 2010 and extended this support to the Club’s AFLW team as an inaugural sponsor in 2017.
The new agreement reflects Woodside’s commitment to continue partnering with Fremantle to have a positive impact on the Club and in the Community.
This includes the expansion of the Indigenous Program Partnership which encompasses the further development and implementation of Fremantle’s next Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
The club’s second Stretch RAP will be endorsed by Reconciliation Australia by the end of the year thanks to the significant guidance of Woodside.
Woodside will also help the Club extend its presence in regional northwest WA, with support for the Purple Hands Foundation’s Community Connected program, as well as expanding the Club’s Next Generation Academy footprint in the Kimberley.
Club President Dale Alcock said the important partnership would continue to help Fremantle remain in a strong position both on and off the field.
“Woodside are a significant co-major partner and have provided us great strength and stability for more than decade,” Mr Alcock said.
“A clear example of this is the support Woodside provided through the pandemic, when we faced great uncertainty. They were there when we needed them most.
“Woodside was also instrumental in the Club implementing its first AFL Women’s program back in 2017.
“This strong partnership extends to the delivery of community programs and the valuable guidance to develop and implement our RAP.
“The decision to extend our partnership with Woodside takes into account the significant and positive long-term relationship we have together. This includes a shared commitment to addressing complex challenges such as climate change.
"Effective and appropriate climate action is critical for us all and Woodside has made significant commitments to the energy transition, while maintaining secure and reliable energy supplies for Western Australian households and businesses.
"We look forward to working closely with Woodside as they play an influential role in the energy transition, and we thank Woodside for their commitment to our Club and look forward to continuing our journey together.”
