Fremantle’s trusty trio in Mim Strom, Aisling McCarthy and Emma O’Driscoll have been recognised for their individual efforts for the season and selected in the AFLW All Australian squad for 2024.
All three have featured in the AFLW Team of the Week throughout the season, with five appearances for Strom, three for McCarthy and two for O’Driscoll.
Strom continues to go from strength to strength as a ruck, breaking the league’s hit-out record with 48 in week 1, equalling it in week 8, and breaking it again with a whopping 55 hit-outs in Fremantle’s elimination final match against Essendon.
The 6ft ruck has had a career-best season, averaging 16.8 disposals, 37 hit-outs, 10.4 contested possessions and 4.4 clearances across the 11 games.

Named in the All Australian squad last year, Strom acts as a fourth midfielder for Fremantle, and racked up a career-best 30 disposals, 400 metres gained, seven tackles, and 20 contested possessions in the week 10 match against the Bulldogs.
The 22-year-old finished the season with 445 hit-outs, the most in the league, as well as being second in the league for AFL Fantasy Points, with a total of 1412 for 2024.
In McCarthy’s seventh AFLW season, but first at Fremantle, the midfield gun fit in seamlessly with a career-best season.
The Irish recruit continued to break her own records with 14 tackles in week 1, 516 metres gained in week 6, three goals in week 9, and 29 disposals and eight clearances in week 10.
McCarthy finished the season as Fremantle’s leading goalkicker, totalling eight majors across the 11-game season.
The 28-year-old averaged 8.5 tackles in 2024, and finished fifth in the league with 93 tackles for the season.
After featuring in the All Australian team last year, O’Driscoll has shown she is a consistent performer in the backline, and is known for her contested marking ability.
The 57-gamer finished the season leading the league in intercept possessions, with 94 across 11 games.

O’Driscoll had her best season performance in week 4 against Melbourne, being a key piece to Fremantle’s win after the siren and holding up the defensive wall with 21 disposals, 11 intercept possessions and 417 metres gained.
The key defender topped her own AFL Fantasy Point record, with 658 in 2023 and finishing on 715 for 2024.
The AFLW All Australian team of 21 players including a captain and vice-captain will be announced at the W Awards on Monday 25 November.
