Sebit Kuek is set for a long stint on the sidelines after scans revealed the forward has sustained an ACL injury.
The injury occurred during Peel Thunder’s clash with East Fremantle, played at Country Builders Stadium in Geraldton on Sunday.
A mid-season draftee in 2022, the 22-year-old has shown himself to be an exciting prospect, kicking 25 goals in 13 WAFL games. He has recently been rewarded with a one-year contract extension for the 2024 season.
Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell said the Club would support Kuek through his rehabilitation.
“Sebit hyperextended his knee contesting the football for Peel on Sunday and unfortunately, scans have revealed he has torn his ACL,” Bell said.
“It’s really disappointing news for Sebit, who has been committed to his development at Peel and has performed at a high standard. On the back of these performances, he has signed a contract for the 2024 season.
“We’ll give Sebit all the support he needs to get back on the field and back to his best.”
