Young defender Alex Pearce has put his hat in the ring to replace the injured Michael Johnson after a strong training session.
The team completed a tough session on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s match against the Suns.
Pearce, who has been on light duties in recent weeks due to back bruising, trained with the main group.
He is among a handful of players in the mix to replace Johnson, who is set to miss up to 10 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Lee Spurr, who missed Friday’s 27-point loss to Richmond due to a shin injury, was on light running duties away from the main group.
Tendai Mzungu was also at his competitive best during the session.
Veteran defender Luke McPharlin, Michael Walters and Zac Clarke were kept to running drills.
Fremantle play Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday 13 June. Bounce down is at 1.40pm local time.
