Fremantle have opted not to place injured pair Ebony and Kara Antonio on the Club’s inactive list, with hopes of their return in the latter stages of Season 7.

Winger/forward Ebony Antonio is expected to be sidelined for the next 8-10 weeks after scans confirmed a posterior cruciate ligament injury to her right knee, sustained in last Saturday’s pre-season clash with West Coast.

Meanwhile, Kara Antonio underwent surgery in late July to repair a left hamstring injury which she sustained on the training track.

Head of Football Operations and Performance Bob Murphy said both Ebony and Kara would remain on Fremantle’s Primary List.

“We’re really hopeful of Ebony being able to make a quick and positive recovery from her PCL injury and return to make an impact in the second half of Season 7,” Murphy said.

“While Kara’s return is probably more unlikely than Ebony’s, hopefully, her rehabilitation phase goes well and provides her with a chance of being back on the field late in the season.

“With someone of Kara’s calibre, it’s important we leave that door open.”
