Live the Dream, presented by Decmil, is a once in a lifetime opportunity for 16 young Australians to become immersed in the culture of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club and ‘live the life’ of an AFL player for five days.

Live the Dream offers participants a rare opportunity to develop skills and behaviours, which can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.

The program will include a tour of Fremantle headquarters and Domain Stadium, a survival base camp in Chidlow, a ropes course at Point Walter Recreation Camp in Bicton as well as leadership and health and well being training sessions.

The Live the Dream program commences on Friday 3 July with Fremantle players Michael Walters, Tommy Sheridan, Hayden Crozier, Nick Suban, Chris Mayne, Michael Johnson, Danyle Pearce and Zac Clarke as the participant mentors.

Meet Giles Irakoze from Cloverdale

Giles plays under 16’s footy for Redcliffe Eagles and dreams of one day playing in the AFL.

He was born overseas and had to learn to speak English, which he describes as being one of the hardest obstacles he’s had to overcome in life.

Giles’ teacher at John Forrest Secondary College, Guy Roberts, describes Giles as a respectful and polite student who demonstrates maturity.

Roberts believes Guy will benefit from the Live the Dream experience because he is very motivated to achieve his goals and is consistently willing to be guided by those in authority and he demonstrates excellent leadership potential.
