DRAFTED FROM: Swan Districts
Tara Stribley is a versatile small forward and winger who slid in the draft rankings after injuries had an impact on her 2022 season with Swan Districts.
She boasts speed and good skills and will work to build her strength as she makes the transition to AFLW football.
She averaged 12 disposals, two marks and three inside 50s per game for Swans in the WAFLW this year.
She played nine games in total including two finals in the WAFLW this year, highlighted by her 26 disposals, six marks and a goal against Subiaco in round four.
Trent Cooper’s comments
“Tara was rated really highly before this season, but she struggled with a few different injuries which have kept her from getting that continuity you need to play good footy.
“While she had a difficult season, we’re really pleased that we’ve been able to draft someone of her ability.
“She has elite speed, really good skills and is a player who had a few things to work on but will have time to do so.
“We think she can be a long-term player for the Club.”
