It was fitting that Tiah Toth was able to celebrate her one-year wedding anniversary as Fremantle celebrated Pride Round with a 30-point win against Richmond, even if it meant being on the other side of the country as her wife.

With her wife Jaki watching on back in Perth, Toth said the Pride Round celebrations allowed her to feel closer to home.

“Obviously we expected this to happen, with me being away from home, when getting married at this time of the year,” Toth said.

“But it’s nice to celebrate a day like today and get the win as well on such a special day for the Club as well.

“It was pretty awesome and I’m sure we’ll celebrate together when we get home.”

Toth had a surprise when she received a gift delivered from Jaki that morning, and Jaki had a similar surprise back in WA.

“It’s pretty funny, when these things happen, we end up sending the same gifts!” Toth said.

“It’s nice to have her putting that thought in with me being over here and how tough it has been.

“Now I’ve got a little thoughtful gift that I get to look at that in my room every now and then. It’s nice.”

Toth said she’s also been feeling the love from the Purple Army, with Fremantle set to spend the next two weeks on the road with uncertainty about what comes next due to WA’s border closures.

“We just want to thank them so much for the support they’ve given us,” Toth said.

“They’ve reached out from the other side of the country and they’ve been right behind us the whole way and are giving us everything we ever want.

“We can’t be any more grateful for them as well as the ones over here, they were awesome."
