Adam Cerra is officially a Blue after Fremantle received pick no.6 and a future third round pick in exchange for the midfielder.
Selected with pick no.5 in the 2017 NAB AFL National Draft, the 21-year-old played 76 games for Fremantle through four seasons.
It is Fremantle’s third trade of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period after Freo secured midfielder Will Brodie and picks 19, 61 and 69 in exchange for a future second and fourth round pick - and completed a pick swap with Collingwood earlier today.
Head of Player Personnel David Walls said Fremantle were pleased to secure another high selection for the upcoming draft.
“It’s disappointing to lose Adam after drafting and developing him and he’s a quality person as well, but it’s also exciting with what we can bring in through the draft,” Walls said.
“We currently hold picks six and eight and we’re really excited by the players that are in the pool and what’s available at that point of the draft.
“There’s a lot of variety, with players of different size and skill sets, which gives us the flexibility to pair the two up, so we can get the best combination and keep adding to our wave of young talent.
“We’d also like to thank Carlton and Robbie D’Orazio from Connors Sport Management. We’ve really appreciated being able to work closely with Robbie to ensure that Adam got to a club that was able to facilitate a fair trade where both clubs can win.”

Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell thanked Cerra for his efforts during his four years at Fremantle.
“It’s obviously disappointing to lose Adam Cerra as a player and a person at Fremantle,” Bell said.
“For four seasons we received nothing but absolute dedication to the Fremantle cause from Adam and we thank him for that and wish him all the best in his football journey.
“We are understanding of his decision to head home to Victoria to be closer to his family and we appreciate his professionalism throughout the process.”
