A mouth-watering ruck duel looms when Fremantle play North Melbourne on Saturday with the AFL’s leading hit-out winners Aaron Sandilands and Todd Goldstein to go head-to-head.

Sandilands dominated against the Western Bulldogs winning 50 hit-outs as Freo blitzed the Bulldogs inexperienced ruck stocks.

It will be a tougher challenge against the Kangaroos' tall brigade on Saturday night at Domain Stadium.

Goldstein leads the competition for hit-outs with 277 at an average of 39.6 per game, with Sandilands ranked second with 253 hit-outs, averaging 36.1.

The North ruckman won 38 hit-outs against the Bombers on Friday night.

Fremantle may have an advantage in the ruck though, through Zac Clarke, with North relying heavily on Goldstein, their only genuine ruckman.

Freo have the second highest number of hit-outs in the competition, while the Kangaroos are ranked seventh.
