Fremantle’s first selection in the 2023 National Draft made his AFL debut in the Club’s Round 7 win over the Bulldogs in 2024, showcasing his speed out of stoppages and ability to impact plays. Simpson spent the majority of his first year at Fremantle developing his craft in the WAFL with Peel Thunder, playing 18 League games and kicking 16 goals. The 19-year-old forward was also part of Peel’s 2024 premiership side, kicking two goals in the Grand Final win over East Perth.
