Fremantle coach Ross Lyon believes the Freo Dockers are a destination club that players will want to play for despite speculation surrounding Nat Fyfe's long-term commitment and trade rumours about other players.
The Freo Dockers are set to be major players in the trade period with a number of senior players coming out of contract.
Giants forward Cam McCarthy and premiership Hawk Bradley Hill have already been touted as trade targets.
AFL.com.au has also reported that Greater Western Sydney ruckman Rory Lobb might be interested in a trade home.
Brownlow medallist Fyfe told Channel Seven on Wednesday night that he would assess all options as he is set to become a free agent at the end of 2017.
Lyon believes in the club's future and believes that players would choose to stay at Fremantle because of where the club is headed, despite the poor results this season.
"All I know is belief's a choice," Lyon said.
"We've had four years of very good football and results. We've had difficulties this year and underperformed in a real sense. But belief's a choice.

"Results are nice to have, but I don't need results to believe in where we're heading and where this club is heading.
"We're a big club. We're a strong club. We've got a plan and are going to work the plan.
"We expect all those guys to keep buying in."
Chris Mayne, an unrestricted free agent, and Nick Suban have also been linked to potential moves east.
Michael Barlow is out of contract and unsure about his future, while Zac Clarke, Matt de Boer and Clancee Pearce are also set to become unrestricted free agents at the end of the season.
Lyon was also asked about a rumour surrounding Hayden Ballantyne's future.
He said Ballantyne had not spoken to him about any potential move away from Fremantle and he did not know of any discussions with the club.
"We're back to rumour, innuendo, and speculation," Lyon said.
"I deal in facts. So I don't have any facts on that to help you."
Johnson out for season
Lyon also mounted a passionate case for players from other clubs, particularly young WA players, to view Fremantle as a destination club.
"We're about to unveil a $107 million (training and administration) facility the likes this country hasn't seen and is unlikely to see again for a fair while," Lyon said.
"We've got some of the best under 23s in the country, or 24 ... Fyfe, (Harley) Bennell, (Michael) Walters, (Lachie) Neale, those sort of guys."
"(We've got) 52,000 members.
"We've got powerful sponsors.
"So why wouldn't you want to come here if you're a WA kid."
Lyon said history is "littered" with clubs that go down to the bottom of the ladder and climb back up quickly and he believes that the Freo Dockers will be one of those clubs.
