As Ron Burgundy would say…that escalated quickly.
It started with a clever, and very generous, #PurpleHazePledge from Lee Spurr.
To raise money for seriously ill children and their families, Spurr pledged $200 if Matthew Pavlich would make his Domain Stadium return while on the broadcast for Fox Footy - and kick a goal from the 50 while in his suit and leather shoes.
Lee Spurr has made a BIG #PurpleHazePledge involving his old mate @mattpav29. Will @mattpav29 accept? #StarlightPurpleHaze pic.twitter.com/izawhW8FPO

Then in typical Pavlich style, he upped the ante.
My #PurpleHazePledge is $500 if @davidking34 nails one from 50 with me prior to #StarlightPurpleHaze game @FOXFootyLive @freodockers
— Matthew Pavlich (@mattpav29) March 24, 2017
But why stop there? Pavlich continued to rope in his fellow presenters – this time making the call to Anthony Hudson.
And I'll tip in another $500 if Huddo (attempts to ) put one through with us @FOXFootyLive @freodockers #PurpleHazePledge

Then at the encouragement of Pavlich, David King joined in.
.@mattpav29 great man, I'll donate $100 if I miss but Spurry is in for $200 if I nail it. If we both nail it he drops $400!
— David King (@davidking34) March 24, 2017
Then the fans got involved, thanks to the generosity of twitter user @jimmy_trader.
If @mattpav29 does it I will double it. #PurpleHazePledge https://t.co/sbgthKsKeq

We did the math. If Pav, Kingy and Huddo can kick truly, it will be a $1,600 windfall for Starlight!
Want get involved? Get on twitter or instagram to make your own #PurpleHazePledge – and be at Domain Stadium from 4:25pm to see Pav and the gang kick it for the kids.
