Rory Lobb could play as soon as this Sunday’s clash with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, with the versatile forward / ruck a test to return from a knee injury.

High performance manager Phil Merriman said Lobb faced an important week on the training track to prove his fitness after injuring his knee in the Marsh Community Series in March.

“Rory is a test. He’s moved through his reconditioning program really well,” Merriman said.

“It’s a great credit to the reconditioning staff and Rory to get to this point in his rehab.”

Darcy Tucker (hamstring), Lachie Schultz (concussion) and Brandon Walker (concussion) are also hoping to be available for selection at either AFL or WAFL level this weekend.

“(Lachie and Brandon) have progressed really well through their concussion protocols and will be tests to play this week,” Merriman said.

“Darcy has progressed well. He will be a test to play as long as he gets through training this week.”

Merriman said key defenders Joel Hamling and Alex Pearce are progressing well in their rehabilitation.

“Alex will run on the Alter-G machine this week,” Merriman said.

“Joel has been progressing well on the Alter-G this week and they’ll both be running on land early next week.”

Athletic defender Griffin Logue will be available to play his first AFL game of the season after getting through Peel’s round two clash against East Perth in the WAFL.

He last played for Fremantle against Adelaide in round five of the 2020 season where he was one of the best on ground.
