The AFL has determined that suspended forward Josh Treacy will be available for selection in the AFL competition from round three.
It means the 18-year-old key forward could debut as early as Fremantle’s clash against Carlton on Sunday 4 April at Marvel Stadium.
Treacy was last week handed a two-game WAFL suspension for striking Brady Grey in a pre-season game between Peel and Perth.
With the 2021 WAFL season starting two weeks later than the AFL, it meant Treacy would not have completed his WAFL suspension until the end of round four of the AFL.
The AFL since determined that Treacy should only be suspended for the equivalent time in both the WAFL and the AFL competitions.
Treacy will remain suspended for the first two rounds of the WAFL season should he not be selected in the AFL in rounds three or four.
He will be available for selection for Peel from round three when the Thunder take on South Fremantle at Pingelly Oval on Saturday 17 April.
Treacy has impressed this pre-season, highlighted by his seven-goal performance in a practice match for Peel against Claremont on Saturday at Claremont Oval.
