Fremantle will make one change for their round three clash with Adelaide at Norwood Oval on Sunday.

Forward Ashley Sharp will make her first appearance in 2021, with defender Evie Gooch coming out of the side.

Gooch was unable to travel with the team to South Australia on Friday due to her commitments with DFES in Perth.

Sharp is expected to add some speed and extra goal nous up forward, coming off the back of kicking seven goals from seven games in 2020.

Katie-Jayne Grieve and Maggie MacLachlan will be the emergencies.

Fremantle have never faced the Crows in Adelaide since the AFLW’s inception, with the sides’ previous two meetings taking place at TIO Stadium in Darwin in 2018 and 2019.

The game will be broadcast live through Perth and WA on 7mate and Fox Footy. You can also watch the match streamed live on Kayo and the official AFLW app.

Fremantle will undertake a captain’s run at Norwood Oval on Saturday afternoon prior to the big clash.

As the official reigning premiers from the 2019 season, Fremantle captain Kara Antonio believes the Crows are still the team to beat.

“We haven’t played Adelaide in a few years, so it’s exciting to get on the road…and take on the Crows and test ourselves,” Antonio said.

“They’re, I would say, the premiership favourites as it currently stands with (Erin) Phillips back and (Chelsea) Randall playing up forward and they’ve also got some kids coming through.

“They’ve got a number of key players we’ll no doubt earmark, but we’re excited to see how our game plan and strengths go.”
