East Fremantle 5.5 (35) def Swan Districts 4.5 (29)
Easts and Swans played each other for the second week in a row and it was the same result with East Fremantle winning by a straight kick.
Swan Districts went into the final term in front with the breeze but East Freo dominated and proceeded to keep it at their end and kicked the goal that made the difference. East Fremantle advanced to the preliminary final against Peel Thunder while Swan Districts are now eliminated. 

Gabby O’Sullivan (East Fremantle)
Gabby was clearly East Freo’s best player. She drove the ball in repeatedly, had lots of inside 50s and kicked the winning goal as well. She was crucial to their victory. 

Alex Williams (East Fremantle)
Alex is getting better and better. She made lots of big spoils and used the ball really well out of the back half. The WAFLW season has been so valuable for her to get back to her best after recovering from an ACL injury. 

Ashley Sharp (Swan Districts)
Ashley didn’t have as big of an influence as she did the week prior. It was very wet conditions and she found it hard to get on the outside but she still competed strongly. 

Bianca Webb (Swan Districts)
Bianca worked hard through the midfield but she just wasn’t able to overpower the East Fremantle mids.

Subiaco 4.4 (28) def Peel Thunder 3.4 (22)
We had three players all playing for Subiaco in Hayley Miller, Janelle Cuthbertson and Ange Stannett.
This was a high-intensity game in finals conditions, with the winner getting a week off and advancing to the Grand Final. It’s really pleasing to see those girls get some good minutes in, as it’s perfect preparation heading into the AFLW season. 

Hayley Miller (Subiaco)
Hayley was instrumental in maintaining Subi’s field position dominance for a lot of the game and she was particularly good in the final term when she had to stand up with Subi kicking against the breeze. There were a lot of big efforts from Hayley in the D50 to help repel Peel’s advances when the game was on the line.

Janelle Cuthbertson (Subiaco)
JC was good down back but she suffered a minor knee injury, which limited her output in the second half. She was a very valuable contributor early in the game.

Ange Stannett (Subiaco)
Ange had her best game of the year playing down back. I dare say that if Ange wasn’t playing down there the result would have been different because Peel were relentless and she repelled a lot of their attacks.

Subiaco will get a rest this week, so we look forward to watching Peel take on East Fremantle for a spot in the Grand Final. From a Fremantle perspective we should see Gabby O’Sullivan and Alex Williams take part for the Sharks in that game.
